The bride made a grand entrance with her loving father where the civil ceremony started in the pale blue Graves Room. After about an hour the guests walked towards the famous Dun Library where guests were offered drinks and finger foods. I had the time to take photos of the newly married couple in various places including the Dun Library, the grand stair entrance and of course the famous Kildare street outside with a picture of the police standing by the Dail! The weather was just glorious we just had to get outside for a bit before settling back for more group photo sessions with family and friends.

Finally before it was time for me to finish the job, the bride and groom had a cutting of the cake shot to do before strolling down the hall towards the Corrigan room where the reception dinner took place. I had a sneek peek of the grand room before the guests arrived and admired the design of the wedding tables and chairs. Congratulations to the new Man and Wife!

Come the wedding day I arrived at the church in plenty of time taking pictures of all the guests from America and of course from the Irish soil with the lovely groom with his two best men his brother, Kevin and his soon-to-be wife’s brother Brian.  The wedding ceremony started somewhat a little late…nothing to do with the nerves of the bride who was getting ready in Ballsbridge Towers hotel….but all arrived eventually on time with the lovely bride and her two sisters bridesmaids, Claire and Imelda. I assured Mike who was waiting at the altar that all is fine and that Anne looked stunning.

After the church ceremony we headed off on quite a bit of journey to Moyvalley Golf Hotel resort so I made sure I was one of the first to leave to be there for the arrival of the bride and groom. The drive was pretty straight forward along the long stretch of the M4 but one has to be careful not to get off on the wrong junction without having to do the extra mile of turning back. I advised the manager of the hotel that the wedding guests were on their way and after some forty minutes or so the newly married couple eventually arrived along with the guests after.

Out in the back yard at one of the top wedding venue location in Ireland there you would find a lovely fountain surrounded by stone self catering cottages where it was ideally suited for the wedding guests to enjoy canepes with chilled drinks. I took photos of the bride and groom having a stroll around the yard with more cottages in the background but white washed with lovely coloured doors which gave a feel of as if you were on the farm. I caught many moments of Anne’s veil flying in different directions which I thought was quite funny.

Congratulations on getting married!

The day started with some clouds with a forecast of heavy showers. Luckily it only happened once just before the bride arrived at the church ceremony. I was quite wet as I had to rush out across the road to fetch my plain white umbrella for the bride to use in case it showers. The lovely bride came with four bridesmaids, two flower girls and two page boys…quite a handful but sweet. Also the groom getting nervous came with his two best men learning how to put the wedding ring on which finger just in case he gets it wrong during the ceremony.

Most of the photos were taken at the wedding reception, the Radisson Hotel, with several taken inside and out in the front of the garden among the fountain for the bride and groom alone followed by photo sessions of the family with friends. The day went well without another hint of shower.

On the day of the wedding photography started a little early for me as I wanted to capture the details of the the house with its decorated garden before I meet the bride getting ready. It was so sunny and dry….I was really happy and was greeted by a lovely peacock. I met the bride in her bridal suite getting her make up done whilst the two bridesmaids were drinking champagne and chatting away. I had the opportunity to document action and reaction of the people coming and going until it was time for me to travel to the Kilnarin church to take pictures of the lovely groom, Johnny and the guests.

After the church it was back to Marlfield house where I was ready to capture the arrival of the bride and groom in an open car and served with a congratulatory champagne. The guests arrived and were offered soft drinks along with champagne of course with variety of delicous finger foods.

Out in the back garden with the background of the beautiful elegant conservatory I couldn’t resist taking pictures of guests enjoying the glorious sunshine. The wedding photos of the bride and groom with their family and friends were taken in various location on the grounds. There at the lovely little maze garden I captured the couple having a stroll before embarking on a small wee bridge where the proposal of marriage took place some time back hence the reason to have the wedding venue at Marlfield House Weddings

The guests arrived on a glorious sunny dry day. Everybody settled in their seats as I waited for the bride to turn up with her two lovely bridesmaids along with two flowergirls and a pageboy. The ceremony was short and sweet…the priest upon the wedding couple’s request asked the fellow guests at the church to stay in front of the church so that a group photo would take place before they proceed to the hotel reception. It took a bit of organising but I was grateful that all the guests and the happy family stood as advised on the available steps.

The grounds of University of Cork was so empty of students (they were stuck inside doing their important exams) thankfully so I set off taking pictures of the bride and groom with their family and then the bride and groom alone in other surroundings. There were unbelievable choices to be had but I had limited time to take a number of shots before the wedding reception meal started at the Spa Hotel Fota island. All in all it was perfect day to capture the real wedding. I was delighted they had fun too and settled down as Man and Wife!

Photography started on a bright, calm sunny day in the lovely grey stone church, the Sacred Heart. The sky was so blue with some white puffy clouds everywhere. The day before the wedding the day was so dull and stormy. Looks like I brought another day of sunshine for the bride and groom!!

Gus and few of his best men strolled up and I had the opportunity to take pictures of them walking up and strolling towards the mini woodland before the bride, Mary, arrived. The guests eventually started to arrive and it was time for the ceremony to start before we headed back to the wedding hotel. As the day was still bright and sunny Mary and Gus wanted to have their photos taken by themselves facing the ocean and by sheer luck there was a bit of rainbow in the background which I was delighted to capture. The rest of the photos with family and friends were also taken before settling in the library before the reception meal started.

The wedding day thankfully was dry and sunny….not much of a storm but a hint of a breeze. I always laugh at myself thinking how lucky I have been as a wedding photographer that I seem to bring the sunshine on the bride and groom’s special day since I started professionally in 2004. The bridal suite was so big and it has an upstairs room for the bride getting ready. I took photos of the birdesmaids and the flowergirl whilst waiting for the bride to come down. It was not so long till she appeared and was ready to have her veil on watched by her close family and friends.

Half an hour later I arrived at the church taking photos of the groom with his best men followed by a steady flow of guests arriving. The lovely church ceremony were conducted by two priests, one of who is Mary’s brother Father Luke and one of the singers was performed by another brother of her’s Cormac. After the signing of the registry I had the time to quickly take some photos of the happy occassion of the newly married couple among family and friends coming out of the church before I headed back to the hotel in time.

At the Doonbeg golf resort I captured and documented the arrival of the bride and groom being greeted by a rapturous applause of their family and friends before settling down over a well deserved drink. Out in the back of the hotel there was a stunning view of the best golf course facing the Atlantic Ocean where the wedding photos of the bridesmaids and best men along with the bride and groom’s family were taken. The resort has been one of the best wedding location in County Clare. The wedding reception was situated beside the hotel in an erected marquee which looked gorgeous and has been fabulously decorated to match the theme of a wedding. Before the meal started the sun was about to set which was the perfect moment to take pictures of the bride and groom against the backdrop…..this certainly was one of my favourite wedding photography story.

As of now I would like to congratulate Mary Carney for being the first winner of Masterchef Ireland and if you love food please have a look at her yummy recipe website! Oh and one of the photo I took was shown on RTE Masterchef ! Hurray!

The ceremony set in the beautiful gothic church was lovely and sweet. The five bridesmaids made a grand entrance followed by the flower girl and page boy who made sure to smile before the bride and father of the bride arrived. Robert and Yvonne exchanged the rings much to the delight of the guests who realised that Yvonne couldn’t quite squeeze the ring on Robert’s finger but eventually did before proceeding to the signing of the registry.

Outside the church Robert was greeted with a surprise one-day-only gift….a ferrari….from his wife and set off on the journey to the reception, a well located venue north of Dublin The Roganstown Golf and Spa Resort. As the weather remained sunny and dry the family, guests and bride and groom had the opportunity to have the photos taken in the garden and for the whole group shot behind the hotel where I placed on the balcony looking down. The bride and groom then had an alone time where they wanted to have their photos taken in the Japenese garden on the cute little red bridge.

Photography at one of the Ireland’s well known wedding venue took place in Barberstown Castle, Straffan, county Kildare. It was about a half hour drive from the city centre of Dublin. Here are some photos I took of Claire & Robert…..

I was asked to take pictures of the groom getting ready (not the bride!) in their home in Booterstown not far from the church, Booterstown Parish. The lads were there to keep Brendan’s nerves at bay whilst greeting each other with a glass of champagne all round. The groom was on his way to travel in his lovely red mini to the church and stopped by the pub for another quick drink. It was a happy occassion meeting some of the guests there until it was time to go inside the church. I waited outside for the bride to arrive with two beautiful bridesmaids. They arrived on time so the ceremony started.

The reception took place in Bentley’s Townhouse located beside St. Stephen’s green. The fire glowed welcoming the bride and groom and guests warmly. There were plenty of oportunities to take pictures in elegant luxurious rooms. The dinner was served in the Oyster and Bar Grill restaurant whilst the drinks were served in the Aviator Lounge.
