Meet upcoming model Kristen who needed to build a portfolio for future model work! I was privileged to be asked to take pictures of this lovely young lady based in County Dublin, Ireland. Admittedly I was nervous to take pictures of Kristen on location, which was my idea. I had never done model photography before nevertheless, once I met Kristen, my nerves subsided. Kristen is a lovely person and was looking forward to the shoot.
As a natural-light portrait photographer on location, I brought her to a beach near Dalkey first. Kristen wore a lovely top with a british union jack decoration, which suited the background of the clear blue sky and the stone blocks. After a few shots there we headed off to a small stoney beach where I found a derelict changing-room building that had lovely red bricks and, black wooden door. The colour with the light created a charming ambience and reflected Kristen’s face. She wore a dress with high heels, and although she had goose pimples at the time, Kristen was ready to model more and have fun.
After another changeover I took photos of Kristen close to the black wooden door which complemented her casual clothes, being a scarf and hat! I suggested to Kristen to pose in a certain way as if she wanted to appear in a magazine, and I was pleased to say she was eager to do so. It was great. Another one last photo shoot before I brought Kristen home offered itself while passing a lovely rusty cream wooden gate with the sign “No parking” and knew I had to take more photos.
I am delighted that I felt comfortable being a ‘model photographer’ for the day, and I must say that Kristen was lovely to work with. If you like to hire Kristen to model for you, you will find her via her website.
