Delightful Wedding Venue at the Stephouse Hotel, Borris – Wedding Photographer Carlow

Spending the day out on April Fool’s Day as a wedding photographer in Carlow was a bitterly cold day standing by the beautiful old church of St Brendan’s near Clodiagh, waiting for the wedding guests to arrive, followed by the groom and the bride.

The wedding ceremony started around 2pm, soon after the arrival of Margaret, the bride, who walked along the aisle with her father. After the singing and the prayers, it was time to exchange the rings. The young couple couldn’t contain their giggles and happiness when they were finally announced  “Man and Wife”. Once the signing of the registry was sorted, the bride and groom proceeded out of the church and were warmly greeted by the wedding guests and family. I took photos of the happy occasion before I headed to the beautiful village of Inistioge for the location photography shoot.

At the quaint village of Inistioge I photographed the bride and groom with the charming backdrop of the old stone bridge and the river. I was delighted that the day remained dry despite the harshness of only 3 degrees on the thermometer. I quickly made sure I got the shots of the bride, groom, best man and bridesmaid before heading off to one of the Boutique Hotels, Stephouse Hotel in Borris.

On arrival and walking the red carpet, bride and groom were greeted with a glass of champagne and joined the rest of the wedding guests. Inside the warm glow of the reception area I began to photograph the guests from place to place and found my way to the Cocktail Bar where more guests were settling down in comfort, eating delicious scones followed by coffee and tea. I was mesmerised by the beauty of the two rooms’ décor and wanted to be the guest! After a while it was decided that the group photo should be taken on the stairs underneath the chandelier instead of the garden while it was still too cold to put everybody outside. It has been a joy to see them in one frame with the bride and groom in the centre.

At the basement floor below the reception area more photos were taken of the immediate family with the bride and groom, followed by friends with the bride and groom. There was just enough time to squeeze in photos with bride and groom alone while cutting the cake, standing by the fireplace and taking in the general beauty of the reception area.

Stephouse hotel in Borris is a worthy venue for a wedding or small party, as the food, the reception décor and the staff are wonderful and will make your day special. I am sure Margaret and Pat had a very special time there and Congratulations on becoming Husband and Wife!
