Fallon & Byrne Wedding – A city wedding

Meeting Aideen and Simon who asked me to do their wedding photography in Fallon & Byrne was lovely, especially for their choice of venue. Fallon & Byrne, set in the heart of Dublin city town is one of my favourite places, to visit where I sometimes buy fresh bread and enjoy the aroma of the different types of vegetables and meat from far and away. It has this essence of a true food hall to be enjoyed, to sit in and to savour the pleasure of homemade sandwiches and coffee.

The photography started at the bride’s sister’s house which was smartly renovated a few years back and is located close to Croke Park. I set about photographing Aideen who looked lovely in a very special and tasteful wedding dress by Charlotte Balbier, together with her mother and her two bridesmaids.

At the University of Dublin Church (where I photographed two weddings there, see Fiona & Dennis’ wedding and Helen & Jarleth’s wedding) I greeted Simon and his two best men and photographed the moments of wedding guests arriving. The bride followed in a hired car, got out just when the drizzle started to fall but made it to the entrance of the church with her brother and her two bridesmaids.
Music and singing started. The ceremony lasted about an hour.

Husband and wife walked down the aisle happy for this to be over and were congratulated by their wedding guests. The rain poured a bit so no chance to photograph the happy couple in St Stephen’s Green. We headed to the “Stag Head” pub instead where the couple and a few guests relaxed before heading to their small reception in Fallon & Byrne.

Inside the reception area the décor was beautiful and elegant as if Simon and Aideen were fine dined to their specification. There was time to photograph them alone in the wine bar where they were at peace with each other before their journey as Husband and Wife started.
