Rainbow theme wedding in Rosedale House, Shankill

It was a beautiful sunny warm day in September! I arrived at this private house in Shankill, home of the bride, to start my wedding shoot. It began with taking photos of the bride getting ready. Members of the family and friends were bustling around putting final touches to everything. The beautiful bride Lisa looked gorgeous in her wedding dress by Berketex Bridal with a hint of purple material later added by Sew Creative.

Out in the garden I took portraits of Lisa holding her purple bouquet made of material (she loves crafts). Soon the three bridesmaids arrived in their purple dresses and were given a different coloured bouquet to complement the colours of the rainbow.

When I arrived in a private venue of Rosedale House where the wedding ceremony and wedding reception were held, I noted that the chairs and a table were already laid out on the lawn. I thought “Wow this is going to be a wonderful wedding for everyone.”

I had a look around Rosedale House, familiarising myself quickly where things were and what photo opportunities I could make use of. There were so many! The rooms looked elegant and intimate. The back garden with it’s garden furniture scattered around and decorated with fruit dishes looked extremely inviting. And of course the beautiful garden path with lavenders as a backdrop.

While I was looking around I was also looking I was trying to spot the groom Sam. He was nowhere to be seen. Eventually I got hold of a groomed man who appeared to be his best man and inquired. It transpired that Sam was hiding in the play hut! He came out when he heard my voice and looked dashing in his suit by Bond Brothers.

At the arrival of Lisa and her father in the beetle car, the guests were already seated waiting for the ceremony to start, and I was getting ready to take pictures of the flower girl coming out followed by the bridesmaids and of course Lisa and her father.

The service started with lots of smiles and guests appreciating the happy couple exchanging the vows, followed by music and singing. Once the signing of the registry has been completed I took photos of the couple walking away surrounded by soapy bubbles which created a colourful frame for a now happy husband and wife.
