I met this wonderful down-to-earth couple Elizabeth and Robert in Clyde Court Hotel, Dublin. They wanted me to take the complimentary photos of their engagement followed by their wonderful wedding ceremony and reception at the Royal Marine hotel.
When I saw the hotel, I understood why Elizabeth chose it for her wedding venue. Elizabeth is from Dun Laoghaire, and her family had used this place on many occassions throughout the years. Elizabeth made the booking straight away after being asked by Robert to marry him.
The Royal Marine Hotel is set in the heart of Dun Laoghaire facing the beautiful harbour overlooking Dublin Bay. It has this sense of history and aura which help you imagine what the days were like in the 1820s. Reminds me of this film “Somewhere in Time” starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. I loved the structure of the building and the décor of the walls and columns which almost enable you to smell true history.
I arrived early (as I always do on the day of the job) and set out to take photos of the reception décor including the wedding cake and the lovely selection of sweets on display. I met Robert who looked dashing in his suit from Dublin Formal Wear followed by his two best men. I went about my business to take discreet photos in the Bay lounge where guests began to arrive.
Before it was time for me to go to the bridal suite, I quickly went to view the room where the wedding ceremony was going to be held. It was lovely, light and airy, spacious enough to accommodate 100 guests or so.
In the bridal suite I was greeted by two lovely bridesmaids and the beautiful, elegant bride with a dazzling smile. The dress bought in B Couture fitted her perfectly, and she had wore a Juliet Cap which suited her beautifully. We had time to take photos of Elizabeth with her two bridesmaids and her mother.
When the ceremony started all the guests stood up to see Elizabeth walk down on the arm of her mother towards her nervous husband-to-be Robert. The expression of the young couple showed how much the words “love and honour” meant to them as witnessed by their loved ones. The event ended with a cheer before they headed out being greeted by a glass of champagne followed by congratulations from their friends and family.
On the way down to the Pavilion bar and into the main reception room, the couple and some guests went outside to have photos taken in front of the majestic hotel and inside the gorgeous pavilion. The sun shone brightly to a perfect wedding day. The guests had fun and more photos were taken inside the hotel area before calling time to call the guests to be seated.
Congratulations to the Husband and Wife who gave me a wonderful review.
