Wedding Photography at Summerhill House Hotel

What a special day it was when I was faced with the buzz and excitement of the wedding day brought.

I was greeted with laughter, chitter chat and faint cries of the babies in the background at the bride’s house. I met the bride, Adrienne, feeding her adorable nine month old daughter, Maria, in the kitchen. We were advised that her make-up artist was ready to do her face. I got my camera to take various shots from one room to another and into the garden. Quietness settled in the lounge where Adrienne was having her makeup done by Stephanie Burgess. Few moments later the bouquets arrived followed by two young videographers.

The day was glorious, the sky so blue and not a sign of a cloud hanging over our heads at the “Queen of Peace” church in Bray. Half an hour after arriving, whilst the guests waited in the church, the bride and bridesmaids finally arrived. I quickly took photos and made my way to the front of the altar to catch the bride walking down the aisle.

Adrienne looked so lovely. She almost broke down in tears thinking she was never going to make it. Michael looked on lovingly and grabbed his future wife’s hand to assure her  “it’s ok we made it.” The priest started the ceremony which lasted about 45 minutes to include the music.

Out at Summer Hill House Hotel (set near Powerscourt, county Wicklow)  I greeted the staff  who knew me from a previous wedding photography session. This time the drinks and finger food was served in the small garden as the weather was too good to have it inside. I quickly took photos of the lay-out followed by shots of the reception room with the wedding cake on display.

For an hour throughout the reception there was time to do the photos of Adrienne and Michael alone walking along the avenue lined by beautiful trees when Adrienne told me to get Michael to kiss her by a certain bush. That was where they had their first kiss when they met. I was glad that they looked relaxed and enjoyed themselves.

The whole wedding celebration was enjoyed by family and friends at Summerhill House Hotel, which offers a wonderful wedding reception and has been popular throughout the year.

Congrats to Adrienne and Michael on becoming Husband and Wife!
