Wedding set in beautiful Marlfield House :: Sophi & Johnny

What a beautiful wedding venue….I was impressed to see the house set in a well kept garden with some sample sculptures scattered about. It is listed as one of the best wedding venue in Ireland and boasts lovely cuisine and elegant rooms. I was delighted to be the wedding photographer during yet another sunny Bank Holiday weekend in 2010. I met Sophi & Johnny to discuss the wedding requirements over the engagement photography session which took place in a lovely private park The Fernhill Garden not far from Leopardstown and Stepaside.

On the day of the wedding photography started a little early for me as I wanted to capture the details of  the house with its decorated garden before I met the bride getting ready. It was so sunny and dry….I was really happy and was greeted by a lovely peacock. I met the bride in her bridal suite getting her make up done whilst the two bridesmaids were drinking champagne and chatting away. I had the opportunity to document action and reaction of the people coming and going until it was time for me to travel to the Kilnarin church to take pictures of the lovely groom, Johnny and the guests.

After the church it was back to Marlfield house where I was ready to capture the arrival of the bride and groom in an open car and being served with congratulatory champagne. The guests arrived and were offered soft drinks along with champagne of course with a variety of delicous finger food.

Out in the garden with the background of the beautiful and elegant conservatory I couldn’t resist taking pictures of guests enjoying the glorious sunshine. The wedding photos of the bride and groom with their family and friends were taken on various locations in the grounds. There at the lovely little maze garden I captured the couple having a stroll before stepping onto a small wee bridge where the proposal of marriage had taken place some time back, hence the reason for having the wedding venue at Marlfield House.
